College Life

“What do you plan to do after your SPM exam?”
“I don’t know. Most probably study.” I answered.
That is what I always heard from my friends and relatives and said to them after my SPM.
After my SPM’s result had come out, I have been offered to Form 6 but I never plan to join the Form 6.
“Son, go and study at TAR College.” My mum said.
So unbelievable, I have joined TAR College after my mum said that to me.
After I joined TAR College, I knew a lot of new friends that came from different state. From first year until now, I have follow and study all the programs and all the syllabus of all units. But for me, at college there have something that we cannot learn from books.
I always tell myself, if we could survive in college and there will be a possible for us to survive in the outside world. Why I would think like that? Because for me, studying in college just like working in an organization. First, let’s talk about study, we have a lot of assignment and tutorial questions to do, it just like working at an office and the boss gave a lot of work to do. Second, let’s talk about people, in college we have to interact with different people and the way to communicate with people was not same as you did during secondary school time already. It just likes an interaction in an organization. In these two academic years, I not only have learned what the lecturers and tutors though but there was something extra for me. Forgiveness, I have learned about forgiveness. There was an incident while in Second year, one of my classmate have copied my group mate’s work. Yes, plagiarism has occurred. At the beginning we were so angry at him about what he had done especially my group mate, but eventually, my group mate did not angry with him and did not care about that incident. After he had the apology from the classmate, everyone had cool down and still we were as friend as usual. From this incident, I have learned how to forgive people and always give chance to people, “Who never did wrong before? Do you?” said my friend.
To survive at college, friend is very important. Friend could give us help when we were facing problem, friend could give us blessing during when we were depress. I have a lot of friends at college, very cool friends. We would help each other when who ever need help, and we have fun together. We have gone through a lot of things together. There were a lot of joy and fun. It is really happy and lucky to have friends like them in college. We have built a great friendship since we knew each other and our friendship grow stronger as the time passed.
College life is fun but is not easy. My friends that came from other states told me before, at the first year of the academic year, they had home sick, they cried at night, because they not use to staying outside and separate from their parents and friends. Not just home sick, some of them also cannot use to the way of study at college because the way of study at college was different from secondary school. Luckily and slowly, they have use to it and feel very happy staying at KL. We attend and also skip some lecture class, we prepare the answer for tutorial question before attend tutorial class, we all do our assignment until mid-night when the due date is near, we all went to library to study and continue study alone at night when the final exam is approaching and we feel what we feel while waiting for the final exam’s result. Why would we try so hard? What are we trying so hard for? Yes, to pass our diploma, to get our first diploma certificate. That’s what we are trying so hard to achieve.
